Getting to FayFoto’s Studio and Office…
We are located in the Allston/Brighton section of Boston near the Charles River, just off Soldier’s Field Road. It takes about 15 minutes from downtown or the Back Bay, and once you get here there’s the luxury of free, off-street parking! Public transportation is limited, but it’s an easy cab ride from downtown, and folks who come from outside the city love not having to deal with city traffic.
If you navigate by GPS…
Please note that our building is on the corner of Electric Avenue and Goodenough Street. If you plug “45 Electric Ave., Brighton” into your GPS, you will arrive at a somewhat unwelcoming side entrance.
Please just drive around the corner. You will find the parking lot entrance and a much more welcoming front door!
From Logan Airport/Downtown Boston, via Mass Pike:
Take the first exit after Downtown Boston (Brighton/Cambridge, Exit 20). Stay to the LEFT after the tolls, toward Allston/Brighton. The exit ramp loops around and merges onto Cambridge Street.
Stay on Cambridge Street for about a mile, passing through four traffic lights. Turn RIGHT at the 5th light, which is marked Union Square, turning in front of Twin Donuts. This street is North Beacon Street but it is not clearly marked until you are already on it.
Remain on North Beacon Street for about 0.9 miles (landmarks include Volvo Village, Wolfer’s Lighting and Cort Furniture Rentals on your right, then Dunkin Donuts and U-HAUL on your left).
Immediately following a set of blinking yellow lights, make a hard left just before the underpass, turning onto Goodenough Street. (You will notice a company called “B. L. & S.” on your left.) Turn RIGHT into our parking lot, immediately after the first street on the right.
From Boston, via Storrow Drive:
Take Storrow Drive West, following signs for Newton. Pass Channel 4 on left, Publik Theatre on right. Take the exit marked Brighton Center/Arsenal Street. Stay to the left, toward Brighton Center. Go through two lights in quick succession, and at the third turn RIGHT onto the Birmingham Parkway (landmark: building marked “Vinfen”). Once you've turned you'll see a broadcast facility with about four stations listed on their sign board. Stay on Birmingham Parkway about 300 yards, and, at the blinking light (Route 20 east), turn LEFT (North Beacon St., aka Route 20 East), crossing the Parkway's center median. This takes you under an underpass. Immediately turn RIGHT onto Goodenough Street. About 50 yards later, turn RIGHT into our parking lot.
From the Turnpike East Bound:
Exit the Turnpike at the Newton Exit, #17. This is Newton Corner. Continue driving straight, working your way into the left center lane, following signs for the Mass Pike East.
Take the LEFT turn that’s marked “Charlesbank Road.” This is a narrow residential road that eventually feeds you onto Nonantum Road.
The Charles River will be on your left. Pass the MDC skating rink. Go straight, through the first light. You’ll come to an intersection that makes a “Y.” Follow the signs pointing toward North Beacon Street/Brighton. Continue on this about 200 yards to a blinking yellow light.
Turn RIGHT onto North Beacon St. (aka Route 20 East), and go under an underpass. (This is more or less opposite the rear of Staples. If you see ReMax on your right you turned too soon.) Immediately turn right onto Goodenough Street (landmark is a company on the corner named B. L. & S.). We’re the second business on the right.
From Cambridge (Harvard Square):
Get onto Memorial Drive West bound, following signs for Newton. You will cross over the Charles River via the Eliot Bridge. Bear RIGHT onto Soldier’s Field Road and continue for just over a mile, passing Channel 4 on left. Take the exit marked “Brighton Center/Arsenal Street.” Stay to the left, toward Brighton Center. Go through two lights in quick succession. At the third light turn RIGHT onto the Birmingham Parkway (landmark is a building marked “Vinfen”). Once you've turned you'll see a broadcast facility with about four stations listed on their sign board. Stay on the Birmingham Parkway for about 300 feet. At the blinking light turn LEFT (North Beacon St., aka Route 20 East), crossing the Parkway. This takes you under an underpass. Immediately turn RIGHT onto Goodenough Street. About 50 yards later, turn RIGHT into our parking lot.
